Student Reader
Children love animals! In this book each chapter introduces a new alphabet letter using the initial sound of an animal’s name as a key word. Animal information is introduced by Parrot, who is their teacher. Parrot’s message prepares the students to follow the storybook characters, George and Elizabeth, on their journeys to visit the animals. The children role-play the dialogue, answer simple questions and are encouraged to offer their ideas. Teacher information about the animals is provided plus suggestions for presenting the lessons. These include Oral Questions and page references for the Workbook and Teacher’s Guide.
Workbook
This book provides practice for the children to print the alphabet letters, key words and sentences between the lines. Understanding the key words is reinforced with colorful pictures.
Instructions for presenting the lessons are provided on each page. These include suggested oral questions. The students count and print the numbers to 22. Review activities are included throughout.
Teacher’s Guide
The Teacher’s Guide includes three tests to be given every fourth lesson and a final test. The children will love the three Picture Bingo games that review and reinforce their understanding of the material taught. Each game includes the basic vocabulary captions plus enrichment captions.
